Sustainability
Sustainability
Green Key is the largest sustainability label for the tourism and leisure industry in the Netherlands. Nearly 700 Dutch companies have already obtained this certification. Camping ’t Noorder Sandt is also striving to achieve this sustainable quality mark. This includes using energy and water responsibly, environmentally friendly cleaning, recycling, and making thoughtful choices regarding food and other products.
We have been awarded the Green Key Silver certification. This means that we meet extensive sustainability criteria and go beyond the standard requirements in several areas, including energy and water conservation, waste reduction, responsible purchasing, and socially responsible business practices.
At the same time, we do not see this as the final step. We continuously strive to improve and further strengthen our sustainable approach, with the aim of achieving the Green Key Gold level at the next assessment.
“We aim to work exclusively with regional products.”
Strandpaviljoen Zee van Tijd is committed to future generations with a forward-looking vision. We contribute by embracing sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Caring for the environment, the climate, and society is at the heart of what we do.
Below we highlight several examples.
Diversity
We are proud of our team! And we are happy to show it—young and old, everyone is welcome. It is this mix of different people that makes our team so unique. Who knows, it might be something for you as well?
Sponsorship
Through sponsorships, we also contribute to our community. For example, we support:
- Westerlander Village Festival
- Various sponsorships for schools in Julianadorp
- Ronde Tafel 16
- Evening Four-Day Walking Event
Bee Garden
Nature gives us the beauty of our surroundings, which is why we do our best to give something back. A great example is our bee garden. The bee garden supports the local flora and fauna. Contrary to popular belief, bees do not sting without reason—they show their stinger only when they feel threatened. A bee garden is an easy way to contribute to a sustainable world while enjoying all the beauty bees have to offer. Who knows, a bee garden might be something for you too?

Honey from our bees is available at the reception of our campsite on the other side of the dunes at ’t Noorder Sandt.
